VoltRated gathers the best independent test data, manufacturer specifications, and years of community consensus into plain-language buying guides and tools. The goal is simple: answer the real question - "which one do I buy for my stuff?" - without making you wade through forums, spec sheets, and inflated marketing claims yourself.

We focus on everyday, brand-safe use: household AA/AAA cells, flashlight and EDC batteries, chargers, and the gear that keeps your phones, laptops, tablets, cameras, and portable devices powered and healthy.

What VoltRated is not

We do not run our own lab. We are a curation-based resource, not a testing house, and we never claim first-party measurements. When we cite numbers, they come from respected independent testers (such as lygte-info.dk), published manufacturer data, or well-established community consensus - and we point you to those sources so you can dig deeper.

This matters because the rechargeable-battery world is full of fake capacity ratings and rewrapped mystery cells. Our value is separating what actually holds up from what only looks good on the box.

How we make our picks

Every guide is built the same way: pull the independent test data and real specs, weigh them against long-running community experience, and translate the result into a clear recommendation with the trade-offs spelled out. When prices or specs are approximate - and they often are - we say so. When something is a matter of safety, we keep the caveats in rather than oversimplify.

A note on safety

Lithium and NiMH cells can be hazardous if misused. Throughout the site we keep safety guidance in plain sight, avoid prescriptive "safe at exactly X" claims, and always tell you to follow manufacturer instructions and use the correct charger for each chemistry. When in doubt, err on the side of caution.
